Dear Friends,

2020 has been a year of one intense challenge after another. But because of you, we feel a sense of resolve – and gratitude. With your help, we’ve been able to achieve some exciting milestones during this challenging year.

Here are a few PACSAC achievements that I’m particularly proud of:

Connecting more people with their farmers when COVID hit

As the pandemic intensified and restaurants closed, PACSAC helped farms across the state quickly redirect their crops to CSA programs. In just a few weeks, 48,000 people used our farm directory to find a CSA membership that best suited their needs, nearly doubling CSA sales in Oregon.  Not only did people have continuous access to fresh, healthy food – they also realized that the shorter the supply chain, the safer the food.

Getting healthy food to under-served communities

When hundreds of farmers throughout the state had to evacuate their farms, PACSAC was there to assist them.  We raised over $35,000 to help them recover from wind and fire damage, lost crops, and lost sales.  We connected them with safety gear, communication networks, and resources to help them quickly get back on their feet.

But we can't continue our work without your support.

We're a shoestring nonprofit, and your contribution is crucial to keeping PACSAC operating. With your tax-deductible donation, we will continue to grow our local food system, and move closer to realizing our vision where everyone eats local food, farmers thrive, and CSA is a household name

Every dollar helps, so please do what you can – and if you donate today, you'll automatically be entered in our drawing for a free CSA box!

In gratitude,

Holly Hutchason

The Portland Area CSA Coalition connects you with your farmer through Community Supported Agriculture. We help people find local farms, and we help farmers create sustainable, thriving businesses. We believe a vibrant, environmentally sound local food system is created by building relationships between farmers and households through healthy, accessible, local food.

Our website has resources to help you find the farm that’s right for you as well as a directory of area farms – with new farms added each week! Take a look at the resources on this site and contact us with your questions about CSA or our organization. Make sure to keep up with the latest information about CSA and area farm events by liking us on Facebook!

Please note that inclusion on PACSAC's list of CSA farms does not imply endorsement of any particular CSA farm. Potential CSA members should choose their CSA farmer carefully to determine that he/she has the appropriate experience and skills to deliver a diverse array of quality produce throughout the growing season.
